Features of Seagram’s gin

The seagram’s brand has different fruity versions although the main one that is the Extra Dry Gin version, is perhaps the ideal choice to combine with a Dry Martini or a Gin Tonic. We’re talking about a gin that looks simple but don’t be fooled by its apparent simplicity, there’s so much more you should know about this Canadian gin.

This drink presents ingredients from various parts of the world that are carefully chosen by great masters providing gin with soft and exotic aromas, in addition to the enebro.

The Seagram’s brand keeps secret the complete formula of these ingredients, however, the base consists of these 6 ingredients:

  • Bitter orange peel, angelica root, cardamom, coriander, cassia bark and enebro

The bottle

Visually it is sober and without unnecessary embellishments or roughness, with a square shape of the bottle and that presents wrinkles or stretch marks allowing in this way better grip.

Tasting notes

Seagram’s is a light gin, clean with light color to gold and very dry, with a soft aroma and herbal flavor, with notes of sweet orange and enebro mainly as we bring it closer to our smell.

It is slightly sweet on the palate with notes of orange and tangerine and hints of spices such as vanilla, cardamom and eenebro.

How to make a Gin Fizz

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 measures dried gin
  • Ice
  • Soda
  • Orange skin strips for garnish

FORMAT: High glass or cocktail glass

First, we’ll fill the shaker with ice and mix it with gin, lemon juice and sugar. Afterwards, we will serve it in the glass leaving room for the soda. Finally I can decorate it with a slice of lemon or with an orange shell presented in spiral.

Seagram’s Opinions and Analysis

After more than 100 years of history and despite its simple appearance, Seagram’s Extra Dry Gin has conquered even the most demanding consumers with its refined quality and taken care of over time.

In short, we are looking at a great drink, perfect to combine with tonic in wide glass or cocktail glass. It’s one of those lifelong gins, one of those you can find at your grandparents’ house, almost hidden in some corner and covered in dust. This is telling us a lot, dare you try it?
