Gin usually has about 40% alcohol. This means that out of every 100 ml of gin there is 40ml absolute alcohol.

According to European Union regulations

There are 4 types of gin according to the European Union and they are as follows:

Spirit drinks flavoured with enebro

It’s actually an enebro-flavored brandy. However, these are considered within gins’ classification. This group of distillates is made from alcohol of agricultural origin, brandy or any cereal distillate.

Both Juniperus communis L. and Juniperus oxycedrus L can be used for its production. On the other hand, only the granbables of Juniperus communis L can be used in the remaining sales denominations.


This type requires the drink to be made with common juniper berries and its alcoholic base cannot be a brandy, but an tasteless alcohol. It should have as its predominant flavor nebrin, although different flavorings can be used later to give it a soft and floral touch.

Distilled gin

London Gin
